Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information TrypBuddy collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using TrypBuddy you agree to the practices described here.
When you sign in and use TrypBuddy, you give us your mobile number and any profile details you choose to add — such as your name, profile photo, email, date of birth, city and a short bio. You also add trip and expense data: trip names, amounts, who paid, notes, receipt photos and checklist items.
If you add trip members from your phone's contacts, we access only the contacts you specifically select, and only after you grant permission. We use them to invite those people to your trip. We do not upload your whole address book.
To keep the app working and secure, we process basic technical data such as your device and app version, a notification token for push messages, and limited diagnostic and usage information.
We use your information to run TrypBuddy: to sign you in, create and sync your trips, calculate balances and settlements, send trip notifications, provide support, keep the Service secure, and improve how it works. We do not use it for anything unrelated to the app.
Trip data you add is shared with the other members of that trip so everyone sees the same picture. We also use trusted service providers — for sign-in, cloud storage, notifications and analytics — who process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law. We never sell your personal data.
Your information is stored on our cloud servers and cached on your device so the app works offline. We keep it while your account is active; data you shared with other members may be retained for them. We take reasonable steps to protect your information — including your mobile number and profile photo — but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
TrypBuddy asks for permissions only when a feature needs them: contacts (to add trip members you pick), photos or media (to attach a trip cover, profile picture or receipt), and notifications (to alert you about trip activity). You can review or revoke these in your device settings at any time.
You can view and edit your profile, manage notifications, and delete your account and its data from within the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct or export your data — contact us to make a request.
TrypBuddy is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, where our servers or service providers are located. Where required, we take steps to ensure your data remains protected.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
